A 60-year-old home was thoughtfully transformed with a Modern Dark design approach, blending grey tones with warm wood textures to give the space a refined, contemporary character while respecting its original structure. Through front and rear extensions, the layout was refreshed to improve flow and functionality. In the living and dining areas, the existing beam inspired a divider display cabinet, which creates separation without blocking light while providing a space to showcase the owner’s collectibles. The staircase features a sleek steel railing with a landing for both style and practicality, and in the dining area, the owner’s Last Supper painting takes center stage on the wall and is highlighted with a feature wall light.
The kitchen was upgraded with a grey-wood palette and contemporary cabinetry, complementing the open layout, while the powder room features half-height retro wall tiles for a cozy yet spacious feel. On the exterior, the first-floor façade was refreshed with vertical louvers that harmonize with the autogate’s design, and the shoe rack area features stylish black retro tiles, adding both function and visual appeal. The result is a mature yet inviting transformation, darker in tone yet balanced with warmth and tailored for modern living while honoring the charm of a long-standing home.
